    Girl's Basketball Camps

    2008 Individual Camp
    Ages: 6-18
    Dates: June 9-12
    Cost: $160
    Description: This camp features a day filled with basketball activity. It is ideal for campers of all ages that wish to improve their skills and better learn the game of basketball. Camp will be divided by both age and ability, with each camper receiving matching competition and instruction. Every phase of the game will be taught with an emphasis on fundamentals. Their skills will be put into practice during games. The entire ECU coaching staff and ECU players will assist you in the process of developing your game. Lunch will be provided.

    2008 Team Camp
    Ages: High School (JV and Varsity), AAU teams ages 14 and up
    Dates: June 14-15
    Cost: $100 per team, $20 per player
    Description: COACHES ONLY! This camp is designed to help improve your teams overall chemistry and skill. Your team will be playing against other teams that are equal in skill and desire to improve. This camp is a great opportunity for your high school team to improve in the off season! $20 per player due the day of camp.

    Ages: 10-18 (rising senior in high school)
    Dates: June 12-13
    Cost: $120 (Commuter)
    Description: This camp is designed for the serious minded basketball player that wants to learn the skills necessary to become a more complete player. Intense, individual instruction is the basis for this camp. Campers will be broken down by position and there will be extensive work concentrating on all fundamentals of the game. Campers will receive instruction from the ECU Women's Basketball Coaching Staff, as well as current Lady Pirates. Meals will be provided.

    Baseball Camps

    2008 Pirate Winter Baseball Camp Information

    Camp Description: The camp is an instructional day camp designed to prepare the camper for the opportunity to play baseball at the collegiate level. The quality of instruction will be oriented to the serious baseball player only. Games will not be played. The camp will run from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm Saturday, December 13th and 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Sunday, December 14th. Lunch & dinner are not included. A seminar will be held in the Club Level at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium from 6:00 pm on Saturday, December 14th until 9:00 pm, or until the last question has been answered. The seminar is designed for the players and parents who wish to learn the processes involved with preparing a player to play baseball in college. Examples of questions that will be answered are, "how does the NCAA Eligibility Center work?", "which showcases should we attend?", and "how do I evaluate my son's transcripts?".

    For Players and Parents: The campers will receive quality instruction in the areas of pitching, hitting, infield and outfield play, catching, and baserunning.The camp is strictly for learning the fundamentals of baseball and improving your skills as a player. The camp is open to everyone, but the instruction will be specialized and tailored to players of an advanced skill level.

    Camp Staff:
    Head Coach Billy Godwin is entering his fourth year as head coach of ECU after leading the Pirates to two consecutive NCAA Regionals in 2007 and 2008. He was named NCBCA College Coach-of-the-Year in 2007. Prior to coming to East Carolina, Godwin served as head coach at Louisburg College where he compiled an overall record of 262-85.

    Assistant Coach Link Jarrett begins his fourth year as the Pirate's recruiting coordinator and hitting coach. Link brings with him a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge of the game. After making 3 trips to the College World Series with the Florida State Seminoles, he went on to play 5 years of professional baseball. Link is known as a tireless recruiter and a passionate hitting coach.

    Assistant Coach Bill Jarman joined the East Carolina baseball staff in 2006 as the pitching coach. Prior to his appointment, Jarman served as head coach at Lander University where he led the Bearcats to a 31-22 overall record and a No. 25 national ranking in Division II. Jarman served as the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator at Coastal Carolina from 1995-2005. Under his direction, the Chanticleer pitching staff was among the best in the nation, finishing near the top in earned run average. Prior to his arrival at Coastal, Jarman spent six years as an assistant coach at Western Carolina University where he worked with former Pirate skipper Keith LeClair.

    Facilities: Camp Registration will be held at Clark-LeClair Stadium and will begin Saturday, December 13th at 8:00 am. The baseball camp, weather permitting will be held at Clark-LeClair Stadium and other ECU athletic facilities. The seminar for the parents and players will be held in the Club Level of Dowdy- Ficklen Stadium from 6:00pm-9:00pm on Saturday, December 13th.

    Who May Attend: The camp is open to everyone in grades 9-12. Parents of campers are strongly encouraged to attend the seminar. A great deal of necessary information for attending college will be given. The seminar is also open to parents who do not have children in attendance at the camp, but parents only will pay a separate cost.

    Online Registration: Campers are encouraged to register online by visiting www.collegebaseballcamps.com/pirates. Online registration will ensure your spot in the quickest and most efficient way possible.

    Cost: The cost of the camp is $250.00. A non-refundable deposit of $100.00 must accompany the application and is due prior to December lst. The balance is payable anytime up to the day of camp via money order or cash. The cost of the seminar for the parents who do not have campers in attendance at the camp is $100.00 and must be paid prior to December Ist. You may pay in full any time prior to December Ist.
